We present our company – “WOKAS”.

We are a family company. Over 20 years ago, our parents established the foundations of today’s WOKAS Grupa Kapitałowa. Their enthusiasm, transferred to us, made us the first in Poland to start making a professional peat cover to grow mushrooms. With the growing interest in products, the company was transformed from a local to an undisputed national leader. It is estimated that currently 3 out of 5 Polish mushrooms grow on the cover of our company. The following years involved the extension of the sales offer to garden substrates and mud. We can proudly state that, within these areas, we are among the best and the largest entities. The dynamic development of the gardening market prompted us to expand our offer with decorators: ornamental wood chips, ornamental chips, ground pine bark. We have over 1,500 business partners in the country, and we can estimate that there are millions of our users. Currently, our products are manufactured in 7 plants.

“Most of them are modern facilities, equipped with the best and the most efficient packaging machines in their category. The current position of WOKAS, both in the mushroom and gardening industry, was built with customers from the eastern part of our country. For this reason, we decided to develop in western Poland. Construction of a new plant in Gronów (Lubuskie province) and starting production in Czaplinek (West Pomeranian province) are a part of our development plan. The domestic market is the most important as far as sales volume is concerned. We do not forget about foreign customers. Today, we export our products to most countries of Central and Eastern Europe. New locations allow us to offer them to consumers from Western Europe.

As the only company in Poland, we use all our resources. Before starting exploitation of peat bogs, we grow it on an agricultural basis. Then we use the deposit, from the top layer to the proper peat. Finally, we restore the deposits to nature, creating reservoirs, water reservoirs and fish ponds. The values of our company involves own deposits, policy of limiting the impact of activities on the environment, modern technologies and production facilities.

However, our partners play a decisive role in our mutual success. Our success is also the success of each of them.

The main purpose of WOKAS S.A. is the production of peat cover for the cultivation of mushrooms and horticultural substrates to meet the needs and expectations of customers and guarantee them full satisfaction.
We want to gain the opinion of a reliable and trustworthy partner, and thus strengthen and develop ourselves.
We do everything to make our products:in accordance with food requirementssafe in terms of health,stable in quality and ensuring repeatability of features,delivered within deadline and at competitive prices,comply with the quality policy.We achieve our purposes through:commitment of all employees in matters of quality,cooperation with a customer by assessing its needs and analysing opinions about products,selection and choice of suppliers meeting our quality requirements,successive modernization of equipment and production processes,permanent improvement of employees’ qualifications and skills,continuous improvement of the quality management system.

Peat and Products under constant laboratory control

Each plant has its own laboratory, where the physical characteristics of peats are controlled currently, i.e.: degree of decomposition, organic matter content, porosity, water capacity and chemical parameters – pH, salinity, nutrient content. Their quality and suitability in the preparation of the finished assortment are determined based on the obtained results. In order to obtain accurate results, samples are sent to the main laboratory at the company’s registered office and accredited external laboratories, with which we closely cooperate.

This allows to guarantee a high level of control, which is proven in ISO 9001:2008 certificate already held by the company for many years. Based on the experience gained and hundreds of tests of different mix variants and cultivation tests, we know that the “products that are a mixture of different types of peat with refiners” are optimal for plants. WOKAS specialises in this area. We consider the best features of different types of peat and innumerable additives (composted bark, garden compost, fertilizers, sand, perlite, expanded clay) while creating individual products. For this reason, our products are perfectly balanced and ready for use. The constantly growing number of satisfied users of our products is the best confirmation of the highest quality. Customers who bought our substrates, reach for them again. Therefore, we know that we are going in the right direction and this motivates our team to work even harder in creating more and more perfect products.
